February 19, 2020 - Online Workshop
Some Christians thought worship meant going to church. With discontinued in-person church services, we need to re-evlauate what worship is. Worship is the key to keeping balance in our lives, keeping our relationship with God alive, and learning how God carries us in our daily lives. This is a partnership.
The goal of worship is to enter into a communion with God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Use the pattern from the ancient temple as a guide. Draw a rectangle. Divide it into 3 segments lengthwise. Label Outer Court, Inner Court, Holy of Holies. Put a gate at the end of the Outer Court. This way you can have a mental picture of movement toward God.
OUTER COURT
- Enter His gates with Thanksgiving. Write at least 3 thanksgivings.
- Enter His courts with Praise. Praise God for who he IS as well as what he has done.
- Laver: Wash off the dirt of the world. Repent and Forgive of your sin at the Cross
- Altar of offering: something of yourself. Good stuff. Your voice, your kindness, your smile, wealth, work of your hands, etc.
INNER COURT:
- Lamp Stand: The Word, revelation, Bible verses (Psalm 103)
- Holy Bread. Communion, provision
- Incense: Prayers for others and yourself. Write your prayer request.
HOLY OF HOLIES
- Commune With the God through the Holy Spirit. Pray in tongues/tell Him you love him. Sing to Him.
- Listen, Focus on God and nothing else.
- Desire to hear from Him.
- What is He telling or showing you? Is it scriptural?
