Move Into the Future

Teaching Notes

October 6, 2020, Tues night Prayer.

This the season of Tabernacles.  It is a time to praise wildly, loudly, and with exuberance.  This is the celebration of our friendship with God.  Our praise will break old cycles that would keep us trapped.

a place that has been fortified so as to protect it against attack.

Ps 18:2 STRONGHOLD is a fortress strategically on the top of a hill where people could run into for safety from marauding tribes.  When the danger was near, they would run into the fortress.  The Bible had stories of how people ran into the fortress and were burned when it was set on fire. BUT…God is our stronghold.

God is above the fray and our safe place.  We are not to just stay and shake with fear and depend on the soldiers there to fight for us.  God teaches us to fight while we are in the stronghold so that we join the forces and we will be able to fight the Enemy too.  God’s stronghold is our refuge but it also our training headquarters. We are to be trained to fight too.

a place where a particular cause or belief is strongly defended or upheld.

Satan has a STRONGHOLD too.  A Satanic stronghold keeps you trapped.  The stronghold is built around a lie that you are believing. You then collect evidence to prove the lie is true.  The more you believe the lie, the thicker the walls, and the more closed the stronghold is.  The key to destroying this stronghold is pitting the lie against ht Word of God.  Repent of the agreeing with the lie. Renounce all the stones that were set against you.  Cling on to the Word of God.

Things that you must have to move into the future.

(from Future War of the Church, Chuck Pierce, 2007)

  • Must understand your past. Recognize old sins and tricks of the enemy.
  • Do not be afraid of the broken places around you. Stand in the gap.
  • Learn to stand. Rise up from prostrate position.
  • Be willing to rebuild the wall that is torn down
  • Must find our position on the wall (Nehemiah)
  • Must endure the enemy’s accusing and taunting
  • Must have an intimate relationship with the Lord fo he can give new strategies.
  • Honor those who have gone before us. (Absolom spirit)
  • Accept and have faith in the generation that is to follow us to carry the standard.
  • Have a testimony that will endure and overcome.

Which ones of these do you have in your walk with the Lord?

Which ones do you need to develop?
