Breaking the Religious Spirit

(Notes from Breaking the Religious Spirit, Chris Hayward)

Spirit of religion vs the Religious Spirit

1. Spirit of religion is the desire to make yourself acceptable by your own effort.
   “Faith without action is dead” because true faith will initiate action.
2. Religious Spirit is a demonic force that controls by using religious devices.

The root of the Religious Spirit is PRIDE

1. Jesus + anything (works & performance) = nothing
2. Jesus + nothing = everything (Grace)

3 forms of control:

1. Pharisees = hypocrisy, craves attention, resists guidance of the Holy Spirit.
2. Absalom=Takes matters into his own hands, exalt himself above authority, fake humility.
3. Leviathan=Self exaltation, resists the Holy Spirit.

How to break the religious spirit must use the power of your voice.

1. Repent of pride, self-seeking, manipulation, control of others, intimidation, etc.
2. Renounce the religious spirit and its influence, witchcraft, legalism, dead works, etc.
3. Break partnership with the religious spirit break its curse, hex, soul ties, and curses, etc.
4. Declare the yoke is broken by the power of the Blood of Jesus.
