This is a picture the Lord gave me to understand the power of repentance.
I was on a playground. On one side of the field was the Lord with a notebook writing down all the things I was doing. On the other side of the field, opposite Him, was Satan also with a notebook writing down all the things I was doing.
Satan was writing down the good and bad things. He had plans to twist the good things, and plans to build condemnation and accusations over bad things. He would say things like, “Got her now! You’ll never get that straight. You blew it again. This is the 3rd time.” And other similar things. When I listened to Satan, the accusations and condemnations grew louder and more insistent. I began to believe them.
Meanwhile the Lord was saying, ”Watch out. You have stepped the wrong way. Come closer to me. Don’t go that way. Bring those things over to me. Repent and Forgive.” When I repented, He erased that item from his note book. Amazingly, when it was erased from the Lord’s notebook, the same offense noted in Satan’s book vanished. There was nothing to condemn. When I brought the glory of the good things to the Lord, they too were removed from Satan’s notebook so they could not be enveloped in prideful boastings.
We are all on the field of life. We make mistakes and get on tracks away from God. We take offense when others sin against us. Listen to the Lord today and hear his call to draw closer to him. Repent and forgive. You can empty Satan’s notebook so you do not have to live under his condemnation. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)
