Your Choices Matter

choicesJesus sent The Holy Spirit to be our Helper. Ever had someone willing to help you but you didn’t either want their help or you didn’t know how to make use of their help? That can happen to us when relating to the Holy Spirit. How can we access the Holy Spirit’s help to the fullest?

Natural Person: Everyone is born of the flesh with no connection to salvation at birth. It is through connecting with Jesus that salvation is obtained.

Saved Person: One who chooses to acknowledge Jesus as Savior, the Messiah.  the choice gives this person access to the Blood of Jesus to be cleansed of sin. Peter said “You are the Christ, son of the Living God.”

Choices

Willful and rebellious person:
This person chooses to continue to live just as he did before salvation and makes choices according to the flesh and the world or his own idea of what’s good.. Rich young ruler went away sad because he didn’t want to do things Jesus’ said.

Sanctified Person: This person chooses to allow the Holy Spirit to show him what and where he needs to repent, and what and who he needs to forgive. This person chooses to be holy and righteous. Zacheus chose righteousness when he pledged to make restitution.

Choose Discipline

Anointed Person: This is the person who has done due diligence in developing and growing his skills and talents. This person accepts correction, wisdom from others, and mentoring. As he walks in ways of righteousness, the Holy Spirit will add to him supernatural power and grace so that whatever he is doing, he will excel and show the glory of God. Anointing is not an accident. God wants to anoint or show off quality. Paul preaching in the Areopagus made great impact because of the anointing. Paul was a highly educated and skilled debater but his speaking was more than intellectual.

Choose Obedience

Empowered Person: This person makes himself available to God with whatever abilities he has for God to soverignly move with power to do whatever God wants to do. Philip was supernaturally translated to the Ethiopians carriage and was again transported to Samaria. That is empowerment.

When empowered, one can heal, prophesy, impart, declare, move mountains, intercede, pray, and even exhort. When they speak, everybody listens. Miracles happen. Things get shaken up.

You do not choose when to be empowered. God chooses the time and place. You can make yourself available and be obedient.

The Lord told a pastor’s wife to do cartwheels on the platform at one point in the service. She thought that was crazy but she was obedient She didn’t know there was a cynical man in the audience who said to the Lord, “I won’t believe this is real unless I see someone do cartwheels on the stage.” That man gave his life to God. That was an empowering moment.
